Finding The Floors
After three years of looking at samples and scrolling Pinterest, I knew exactly what I didn’t want — too grey, too yellow, too flat. But finding the one? That took time. We eventually found our kitchen floor during a visit to The Door Centre in Galway. I had searched high and low, with a list of musts:
The tone had to blend with our warm but light interiors
It had to be textured — none of that overly smooth laminate look
The planks needed to be wide and long to suit the proportions of the room
And most importantly… we had a budget — so real wood or engineered flooring wasn’t an option
On the second floor of The Door Centre, they had it laid out across a full room. Seeing it in situ, not just on a plank, made all the difference. I stood on it, looked at it from every angle, and fell completely in love.
It felt warm, grainy, and natural, but without the cost (or stress) of real oak floors.

📍FAQ’S
How we are finding them after 4 years?
Honestly they are a great floor, The dirt doesnt show up on them- which is what everyone wants really!? They are very hardwearing, we have 2 cats, 2 dogs, now a 1 year old, a teenager and Myself and Ciaran going in and out of the garden in our boots all the time and there is just 2 scratchs which are our fault for dragging heavy stuff on it.
They are put to the test in our house and they pass with flying colours.
Were they hard to Fit?
Ciaran fitted them having never fitted floors before, They are nice and simple, Take care to enure it us clicked in along the way and they are easy for anyone to do.
Would we reccommend them?
100% yes, Well true testiment is to know we have fitted them all over our Air B&B Loughnavalley Cottages which will house groups every weekend.
